oral Bay is the most famous beach in Cyprus! Coral Bay beach itself is a 600m crescent of soft white sand, enclosed by a pair of limestone headlands. Coral Bay is part of Peyia Village municipality who supervise the quality of the beach, its resources and value-added beach activities. Coral Bay beach carries an EU Blue Flag certification which means that it adheres to all standards, rules and regulations required by the relevant committee of the European Union.
Many water-sports and family-friendly activities are offered such as parascending, skying, rides and diving with plenty of eating places, sunbeds, parasols and inflatables are also available.
This beach is much quieter out of the main season, and even at its height it is possible to walk beyond the sunbeds and find uncluttered sand and relative peace and privacy.
The attraction of Coral Bay is legendary bur it also gave rise the the ‚village‘ itself. Today we see a dynamic resort village with restaurants, shops, and a whole host lifestyle services catering to an ever increasing residential population. Where as twenty years ago the ‚village‘ did not expand much beyond the main street, today luxury homes stretch across the entire coastline from Coral Bay to famous Sea Caves, St. Georges (formerly a small fishing harbour), to the very edge of the Akamas National Park some 8km away.
With fabulous scenery, long hot Mediterranean summers, fascinating coastlines lined with myriad of quaint bays or rocky outcrops, and everywhere a vast expanse of the sparkling blue sea; it is a dream-come-true lifestyle setting for many.
The broader area of Coral Bay encloses another beach called Potima Bay to the east which is a proposed site for the Paphos Marina. The Paphos Potima Marina is forecast to bring a huge growth to the area. The Paphos Marina is one of the biggest infrastructural projects in the area which aims to enrich and grow the tourist industry. This project is will cost around 70 million Euros and will offer berth facilities to up 1000 yachts.
