The Technopolis 20 Classics, a classical music concert series, organised by Technopolis 20 and a private sponsor, is holding its last concert of spring at Markideio Theatre this month. Titled Classical Romanticism, the concert will take place on Monday with George Georgiou on clarinet, Doros Zesimos on cello and Gergana Georgieva on piano.

The Romantic era produced many composers who are household names among today’s classical music fans. The trio will perform Piano Trio in B-flat major, Op. 11, by Ludwig van Beethoven, regarded by many as the first Romantic-era composer, and Clarinet Trio in A minor, Op. 114, by Johannes Brahms, considered one of the leading musicians of the Romantic period. The programme is completed by a selection from eight pieces (2, 3, 6, 8) by Max Bruch, whose work placed him in the Romantic classicism, rather than the opposing New Music, and remained always true to the romantic style.

Come June a talented and beloved duet will take the stage of Markideio Theatre. Flutist Savvas Christodoulou and pianist Manolis Neophytou met for the first time on the Technopolis 20 venue stage last March, leaving the best impressions as a duet. On June 4 they meet again.

This time they return with a different repertoire with works for flute and piano, along with solo works, including compositions by F. Poulenc, C. Chaminde, P.I. Tchaikovsky, Ian Clark, N. Neophytides, A. Lourie, S. Rachmaninoff, J.S. Bach, I. Albeniz, M. Hadjidakis.
