It may not be autumn yet, it certainly doesn’t feel like it with these sizzling temperatures, yet a piano recital that arrives in mid-September will bring Autumn Sounds. Young pianist Daniella Nassar is set to perform a solo recital at the open-air amphitheatre of the University of Nicosia on September 11, playing works by classical musicians as well as younger ones.
Compositions by Mozart, Brahms, Liszt, Respighi, Kouroupos, Dohnanyi and Anastasios Antoniou will sound as Daniella takes to the stage at 8.30pm yet September 11’s event won’t be just any piano recital. Going beyond a musical performance, this event will also incorporate live painting, dance and improvisation all of which will be featured alongside the solo piano. To put all of this together for an artful evening, artists Napa Gavriel, Guy Green and Andreas Tomblin will join Daniella on stage.
The young pianist graduated this year with first degree honours from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. She has attained prizes in several competitions including first prize in the Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition and first prize in the Stratford and East London Concerto Competition for her interpretation of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Fourth Piano concerto in 2020. For her upcoming concert, she is donating all proceeds raised to the St Loukas Community charity, a non-profit and non-governmental organisation in Filani, Nicosia.
