Τhe Limassol Municipal Dance Centre presents a new production titled Once Upon: 30 eager young students join forces with professional dancers Abby Mattox and Iago Bresciani of the Estonian National Ballet. Through dancing the show focusses on bullying issues.
Our performance this May is our 13th since the Limassol Municipal Dance Centre was founded in 2006. Titled Once Upon, this performance will showcase roughly 30 eager young students.
The evening will also feature professional dancers Abby Mattox and Iago Bresciani both currently dancing with the Estonian National Ballet.
It has been a challenge and an honor to work with so many children of which some will go on to to train in Europe after completing high school. Abby is such one student!
New music, costume design, scenery and lighting will come together to help tell a story about diversity within our society.
Bullying is everywhere today. It is something that grows wherever there are children. Happily I am in an environment which I can discuss issues with many young students and this has inspired us to look deeper into this topic but through dance.
