Feast of the Assumption of our Lady. Monday is the Solemnity of the Assumption of our Lady. Mass will be at 10am in Agia Kyriaki. At this Mass 8 of our children will be making their 1st Holy Communion. A great Parish event. Everyone is most welcome to join in this joyous occasion.

Good news!!!!!!!!! We have received a wonderful anonymous donation of €100,000. Our grateful thanks to the donors and assure them of our prayers. Already the verandah, patio doors and internal staircase works have started thanks to the €57,000 from the 400 Countdown Campaign. This donation gives us all great heart and helps us redouble our efforts in the shops, selling bears, Angel broaches, keys and all the socials that raise money for the Hospice. We have reached the ‘furniture and fixture’ period, of which we already have promises of beds and other necessary medical equipment. We see this as the hand of God guiding and assisting us, so we are doing God’s work for everyone.

Order of Mass You may have heard there is a new translation of the Mass which we will be using fairly soon now. As promised the booklets are available for €3 after Mass on the way out.

Christians in the Holy Land

The Patriarch attended a conference in London on ‘Christians in the Holy Land’. You can find details of his speech and the conference on our Diocesan website: www.lpj.org A chance to catch up on news of our diocese as well.

Parish Lunch

Every second Sunday of the month there is a Parish Lunch to which all are welcome. This is moving back to the parish hall when the lunch restarts in September. If you are willing to help in some way please give your name and phone number to either Fr. Carlos or Fr. Jim after Mass. We will then call a meeting of Volunteers to organise the Lunch.

Prayers for Monastic Sisters of Bethlehem, and of the Assumption of the Virgin, and of St.Bruno The building of a monastery for the Sisters has taken another step forward so please keep up the prayers for this project to help us through the final stages of the bureaucracy. And of course the St. Michael’s Hospice progress and the countdown 400 campaign. Please do pass the website details to friends and family, the newsletter goes on every week so they can keep up with news from here. Our grateful thanks to Eamon Brooks for all his work on this.
